Lets talk about who has won the most consecutive Region championships. How does everyone feel about this.

With Lisbon, it's a combination of 2 things:

1. They usually have more kids out for track than everyone else in Region 1. Which is partly due to their competition (Central Cass, Kindred, etc) having baseball.

2. Joe Howell. 2005 National Track Coach of the Year.

My sources back in Lisbon say if you want to beat Lisbon, this is the year to do it.

I'm not sure, but I think it was 1994. They had a bad meet at Regions, than went on to finish 3rd in state. I think it was either Oak Grove or Central Cass.

Thats actually really amazing. I'm not saying this is the reason, but I'm sure there's not a whole lot of competition over there. Not very many that I can think of. Help me out if you think of any.

the reason = joe howell...coached there for 30 years. that kind of longevity in coaching and getting a system in place along with being able to recruit kids into the sport that would normally just twist off in the spring is what puts them up there year after year.

i mean...once a decade or so you'd think there would be another school that would have the talent or numbers to knock you off...sheer randomness or something would happen where you have a down year.
