Anyone have word on Sam Larson, Tanner Goldade, Tyler Luraas, Mitch Kudrna, Nakoa Baker?

I know Leutz is going to NDSU, Chris Faller is going to the U of Mary,  and Joe Brehdal(pole-vault state champ) is probably going to NDSU.

By the way, Bowers wont be running at the U of M, will he? Unless he is making an unbelievalbe  recovery...

Kudrna already signed with UND for football but he will also run track there.

Thats what I hear about Bowers. But you are right, he will have a lot of making up to do for taking this year off and he might be even be the same after he is fully recovered. Sad....

No. This is going to border on smack but it is true. If you took all the colleges in ND and SD and ran them in a track meet, UND would be having a good year if they finished 6th. You never know what could happen after they go DI though.

Yeah u never know because they could be gettin better recruits.

Going DI alone won't help. I was thinking of the women's program when I wrote that DI might change things for UND (they'll have to add womens scholarships and track is a logical place to do it). That might improve the womens team but there are still four problems:

1. They don't care about (the men haven't won an NCC championship since 1938 and the women never will).

2. They have the worst facilities among all the new DI schools.

3. DI is expensive and they can save money / balance Title IX by ditching some mens track scholarships. Like I said, on the women's side they will add scholarships so that could be a plus.

4. NDSU, SDSU, and USD care about track, have the facilities and coaching, and will be competing for recruits. Those are also the three schools who dominated NCC track.

Are the women any good? Better than the guys?

I think UND's women has a good XC team. Track has never been good - I think the women are a bit better than the men now.

Thats too bad.

So is college track just brutal, like do you work yourself pretty hard or what?

Hehe, no idea how brutal workouts are, anderson16, especially now that programs are going DI. If you are thinking of running track at a place, maybe you could take a day off and go see a practice -or- maybe a coach would be willing to describe what a week's schedule would be like.

And, like I said, UND isn't that good now, but there's always hope. If you want to go someplace don't let an idiot like me influence you.
