Brice Hornbeck of Kyle, S.D., has signed to play at the University of Mary for the 2008-09 school year.
Hornbeck is a 5-foot-11 guard who played at Little Wound High School. The Mr. Basketball finalist in South Dakota averaged 28 points, 12.5 rebounds, 8.9 assists and 6.5 steals per game. He shot 52.7 percent from the field, including 51.5 percent on 3-pointers.
His signature performance of this past season was a 58-point outburst In a game against Aberdeen Roncalli in January, with 40 of the points coming in the in the second half.
"We are very excited that Brice has chosen U-Mary to continue his education and athletic endeavors," said Pintar. "By his numbers you can tell Brice has a well rounded game. He can score if you need him to or he can create shots for others. The thing I like most about Brice is his feel for the game. He has great basketball instincts and is always around the ball."
Hornbeck plans on majoring in physical education.
