He is on the Payton watch, and with the remaining schedule he could be a serious threat.

Just voted for him, he's got 71% of the vote nobody is even close to him. If he keeps doing what he's been doing all season I don't see any reason why he shouldn't win the Payton award.

It'd be great, but he just hasn't played against enough top notch competition like some of the top contenders for the heisman have.

Google the name Joe Dudek. He was a D3 Plymouth State FB player about 20 years ago. Sports Illustrated put him on the cover and voted him as one of their Heisman picks....anything is possible.

Impressive he finished 9th in voting, Bo Jackson won it that year. He finished ahead of Hall of Famer Thurman Thomas.

Here is a great article on Tyler Roehl on ESPN's website.

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/wire?section=ncf&id=3077760

Some quotes that I like:

"I don't think there was ever any doubt that he was going to NDSU," said Roger Manske, Roehl's fourth-grade football coach who remembers him wearing a North Dakota State T-shirt the first day of practice.

One of his biggest fans doesn't get the chance to watch him play in person. Roehl sends DVD recordings of the games to his older brother, Ben, who is stationed in Iraq. The younger Roehl salutes his brother and other soldiers after each touchdown.

"I have been getting messages on my computer from people from all over the place," Roehl said. "It's nice to make the highlight reel on ESPN, but I'm more excited about putting NDSU on the national map."
