Fighting Sioux Hockey

A big series for the Fighting Sioux at home against Michigan Tech this weekend. A sweep insures a home playoff game. Any Sioux hockey fans out there going and or have thoughts on how the end of the year is going to shake out?

I think a home sweep and a home playoff and the best yet to come! (as in, if we get it rolling, nobody will want to play us).

Nice work Sioux! They swept Michigan Tech this weekend(4-0, 6-0) and moved up to 4th place in the WCHA. They will host Minnesota Mankato Friday, Saturday and Sunday if need be this weekend. I can't wait! It's going to be a great series!!!

They are a very young team this year. hopefully they can keep on rolling through the WCHA playoffs and into the NCAA tournament

Went to the game last night. UFFFDA did they look bad. To have REJECT gophers come into your house and out play ya. OUCH!! Physically they were on the ice, MENTALLY i think they were on spring break with the students. They better bring there A game tonight!

Well the Fighting Sioux got it together tonight and played MUCH better tonight. ndfan almost called it right! Let's hope they can keep it rolling through tomorrow night as well and pick up the series win. Get to the Ralph people!

Well I was off by 1 goal. O well all take the W any day. They played a lot better tonight. If they play like they did last night they will be fine tonight.

Not the regional yet ndfan, up first is the WCHA Final Five down in St. Paul. Nice call on the prediction though for tonight, you sure did nail that one!!!

A great effort from the Sioux tonight, much like last night. It was fun to be there!

The boys got the job done today beating Wisconsin 4-3, They will play St. Cloud State or the Gophers tomorrow tonight for WCHA championship. I'm thinking a Sioux vs. Gophers match-up tomorrow night should be a good one.

Well the will be brining home the Broadmoor trophy after beating SCSU 5-3 tonight. That trophy will look good at the Ralph for the goofer fans to see when they come to the Ralph next week.

UND will be home March 24th and 25 for the west regional tournament. They got the TWO seed and will play Michigan. The other game is #1 Minnesota vs. Holy Cross. Here is link to the bracket:

I haven't payed much attention to Michigan, but I think it's believable that UND can take the West Regional. They have been playing good as of late, and Minnesota has a tendency as of late to poop themselves - losing 7-8 and I think 0-4 at the FF this weekend.

Yep you got the scores right. But quite honestly, look for Minnesota to jump all over Holy Cross and do it early. I will be there and cheering on Holy Cross but I expect the Gophers to make a statement. As for Michigan and the Sioux. It is going to be a great game and so hard to predict when you get two teams that haven't played each other all year, or for a couple of years (I will try research this). The Sioux are looking like they've got the system figured out and at the right time, much like last year. I hope they keep it rolling, go Fighting Sioux!

I agree GO SIOUX!!! Anyone know the seating arrangements for the West Region Tourney? Are special sections set up for certain teams? I am going to be in 111 and I heard somewhere that 311 is for Gopher fans! ( was going to use another word there)

I don't believe there are any special seeting arrangements. They only way there will be a large group of a certain team, is if that school bought a lot of tickets and then sold them to their fans.

Holy Cross beats the GOOFERS 4-3 in OVERTIME.... Quite possibly could be the biggest upset in D-1 Mens hockey. Holy Cross plays winner of UND-Michigan game. Holy Cross was first #4 four seed in regional to win a regional game.
