ND Recruits

Just wondering who the top 5 recruits are in the state this year? Who are the guys UND and NDSU want. Big names are Richards, Solumn, Senger, Schatz, and Luetz. Not really sure anybody in AA, A or 9-man this year that would make the top 5. But I'm interested to see what people think.

Dan Carr from Trinity has the potential to make a good back for SU. I've also heard that the Eckroth kid from Hazen has been getting called by Coach Bohl every week or so. It's hard to pass on a guy 6'2 305 pounds with speed and power. Don't know if those 2 make the top 5, but they are 2 AA guys who are a definite interest to UND and NDSU

Was reading the Bison media blog and Hallstrom said that Coach Bohl told him that they have offered 4 players scholarships. But he won't name names. But Said one is from Minnesota, one Wisconsin, and two from North Dakota. Richards is probably one, the other guess was Senger from Bismarck. Here's what part of his blog said

"One HS coach said he thinks the Bison have offered Luke Senger (SP?) of Bismarck, an OLB. Another coach said he's good but maybe not good enough for NDSU's level. I'll have to call out there sometime."

Anybody else that could have been offered other then Senger?

I am unaware of any of Senger's choices but I think he'll end up at UND.

What makes you think he will end up at UND? I'm just curious.

I think he would fit in well at UND. In my opinion I think he is a little under sized to play LB at a 1-a or 1-aa college.  Which is why I think he would be better off at UND than NDSU.  NDSU wont recruit him as hard as UND.  UND will prolly give him a full ride.  And Lennon is known for recruiting in state very well.  It's just my gut feeling he'll end up there, but you never know.

None of NDSU's current linebackers are huge (5'10 to 6'). I hadn't heard Senger was a midget... even so, if he can play, NDSU will recruit him.

I would guess NDSU will recruit size (OL/DL) and only extra-ordinary athletes at the skill positions.  Richards and the Hazen kid are likely recruits, but others like Senger, Schatz, etc. are not going to get full rides at NDSU.

I just saw on WDAY News that Fargo South Offensive Tackle Austin Richards verbally committed to NDSU. He's a big dude at 320lbs! He was also recruited by the Gophers. Way to stay at home Austin!! Awesome!!

I would love to see Eckroth, Senger, Solum, Schatz, and Kudrna sign on at NDSU! We can build a true ND dynasty that will win multiple NCAA D1 Championships!
