It should be Dwade because he carried the Heat into the playoffs by himself, but with Lebron team winning the East it will be him.

Lebron will win and he deserves to win it and its not even close. If you want to pick someone because they are carrying their team to the playoffs, why not Chris Paul? NO has 7 more wins in a much deeper conference. Miami is a middle of the pack team in the NBA. Lebron is leading the Cavs to one of the best records in the history of the NBA.

Dwade has also put Miami on his back. Lebron will win it, but don't say Dwade isn't deserving

Dwayne Wade has had a great season and should be in the top five for votes but he isn't even close to being more valuable than LeBron. I think LeBron wins this award running away with it and the other guys are in the discussion because they've had good years too. LeBron should be on the first or second team all-defense team as well. The East has 3 good teams this year and Miami is not one of them. Put Miami in the West and he (Wade) would carry them to the lottery. I'd say it's LeBron, Kobe, Howard, Billups, and then Wade.

I agree that Billups has to be in the discussion, just look at what happened to the pistons after he left, fighting for the last playoff spot. And Denver is going to win their division. But he does Anthony with him in Denver and Wade has nobody else around him to take part of the scoring load when he has an off night. So I would put it at Lebron, Kobe, Howard, Wade, then Billups. But it wouldnt surprise me if he would take 2nd or 3rd in the voting behind Lebron. But since their teams are having much better years I'll put him in 4th.

It's true that he has Carmelo, however last year Iverson had Carmelo and they were an 8 seed and looked BAD against LA in that series. Now they're the 2 seed in the West which is far superior to the East top to bottom and if Carmelo can find his post season game he had at Syracuse, they could challenge LA in the west finals if they meet.

There's no way Billups should be anywhere near the top

1. Lebron
2. Wade
3. Kobe

Everyone else is miles away.

I think Dwight Howard should be in the discussion, I wouldn't vote for him, but he would be top 5, along with Duncan,Garnett, a handful of others who have had good seasons.

I'll give you LeBron and Kobe miles ahead of Billups but in know way Wade is miles ahead of Billups. Billups plays in a much tougher conference and is only behind the Lakers as top team in the West. His Nuggets finished 12 games better than Wade's heat in a much better conference. In two head to head match ups the Nuggets beat Miami 108-97 and 99-82. Wade has much better numbers due to the fact he is a scorer and his two next best options are rookies. Billups has a better supporting cast but has to keep everyone happy and get them the ball too. I just think what Billups has done for Denver is better than Wade in Miami which is why I would say he's more of an MVP candidate.

Garnett, I was wrong. Duncan still is averaging about 22 and 11. (I'm not going to look up the exact stats.) He won't win it, but he should be in the discussion.

If anyone was to be in the discussion from the Spurs it should be tony Parker. He has had a phenomenal year.

No, I wasn't kidding. I didn't write all that just for fun. I realize Miami is nothing without Wade but just because the players around him are still developing, (chalmers & beasley) washed up (J. O'neal) and specialists (J. Jones, D. Jones) or just garbage doesn't mean he's more of an MVP candidate than Billups. What Billups has done for Denver this year is similar to what KG did for Boston last year.

I don't think Denver is going to win the championship but Billups has changed the mentality of that team completely. Last year in the first round against LA they averaged about 110 points a game and lost every game by double digits cause they were so bad on defense.

Tonight they absolutely dismantled the Hornets by about 30 points and looked good on defense. Just because Billups doesn't have the big numbers like Wade doesn't mean he isn't deserving. There is no stat for being a great teammate and leader, getting your teammates to committ to playing defense and being a winner. Billups has been one of the most underrated stars in the NBA in the past 6 or 7 years. Even the year after he won finals MVP against the Lakers he wasn't getting the respect he deserved. He's a clutch performer, always shows up in the playoffs, and is the type of player any coach would want.

The Nuggets have 4 more wins then they did last year. So its not a drastic improvement. It seems a lot better because the 2-8 seeds this year are much worse than they were last year.

A little over a month ago someone said NO was a good playoff team in the 7th spot because the 7th in the west would be a top seed in th eeast.

Actually i said that having a good statiscal game against NO was more impressive than having a good game against the Milwaukee Bucks. Which i think is right to assume?

I would agree with that, but Kobe had his game before LeBron did against the Bucks and it was said Kobe did it against a good playoff team. I just replied with that LeBron had just as good a game against the team in the same spot in the standings as NO.
