Ada-Borup (MN) girls start game on 59-0 run

Story from KRJB Radio:

Ada-Borup cruised to it's 11th victory ( now 11-1) defeating Mahnomen 85-12 on Friday night. The Cougars scored 59 consecutive points to start the game, which is a new single game record. ( previous mark was 42 on 1/11/08 also versus Mahnomen. Mahnomen scored it's only two points in the first half with 1:10 remaining on a basket by Emily VandenEide. Ada-Borup led 64-2 at halftime. The 2 points allowed is the fewest points allowed in a half for Ada-Borup breaking the old record of 4 points . The 64 points is also a single game record for most points in a half. The previous record was 60 points on December 22nd of this season versus Ulen-Hitterdal.
Ada-Borup's Katy Ness went over the 1,000 point total for her career on a driving coast to coast lay-up after a steal with 8:58 remaining in the first half. Ness scored 17, Laura Kolness 15, Nicole Smart 24, all in the first half. Smart had 7 steals, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. Ness added 10 rebounds and 7 steals. Vicki Ellefson 8 points, Haley Lindell 2 points. Katie Kolness had 9 points and 6 rebounds , Taylor Kujava 6 points, Tori Narum 4 points off the bench.

Emily VandenEide led Mahnomen with 4 points and 17 rebounds.
Rachel Hanson 3 points, Kaitlin Worms and Kyla Omang 2 points each with Toi Spaeth scoring one point. Mahnomen is now 0-7.
