Team ND Vs. Best High School team in the country

Postby D-Pain » Fri Aug 01, 2008 1:31 am

Ive argued this topic with a friend for a while, and I want to know what everyone else thinks. Who would win? All the best basketball players in ND, including: Dufault, May, Allerd, Martinez, ect... against the best high school team in the country. Who would pull it out, would it be a good game, and why or why not?

Wouldn't be a game. I love all these players you named, but Oak Hill would crush.

Agreed! We (ND) don't have much height going outside the state. We think someone who is 6'5" is tall which is for ND. In alot of other states 6'5" is their point guard not their center. Just ask someone who played on any ECI team. There are some monsters outside the state.

I think its possible you could take the 12 greatest HS players in the history of ND basketball and they still might not be able to beat the best team in the country.

I can agree with that. The "Best Teams" out there have 1 or 2 players going to the Duke's and UNC's of the world and 5 or 6 other guys going to good D1 schools.

you wouldn't even need to use Oak Hill, the best players in ND verse the top team in minnesota would be no contest. im thinking it would be like 80-60, in favor of the top minnesota program. (this years teams and players.)
a great player can win a game but a TEAM can win EVERY game.

In amatuer basketball, I saw a team of basically North Dakota guys, beat a team of former D-1's with a couple D-2's from the cities, and it wasn't even close.

If I recall correctly the North Dakota teams roster was:
Kevin Burkhard - Lakota
Bart Manson - Minot
One of the Innigers - Fargo
Aronson - Crary
Justice - played at NDSU
Todd Johnson - Played at UND
Rick Helling - Lakota/Shanley

Baseball is a different game. all you need there is one pitcher who can go out and throw 95 to strikeout 20 in nine innings. you notice it all the time in Class B. A team may have 1-2 horses on the mound that they ride all year but when their innings run out the 3rd pitcher comes in throwing meat.

the #1 high school team in the nation (Mater Dei 27-0 as of right now) would beat the top ND players/team by about 20 or 30(minimum). Mater Dei has two twins both 6'11" that are going to UNC next fall.
do i need say anymore
