Peterson & the rushing record.

OK Viking fans, does Adrian Peterson get the single season rushing record or not? I don't think he will. I think teams will put 9 in the box just to prevent him from getting and to force Ponder to throw the ball. Then again, I have been waiting for that for most of the season and no one has done it to the Vikings for a long period of time in a game yet.

Thoughts Viking fans?

- On a side note, I would love to see him get it. I am not a Vikings fan but I am an Oklahoma fan!

Think he will get it now after yesterday's performance. Heck, they have been stacking the box on him all year.

Since the Texans are playing for HFA and the Packers will most likely be playing for a 1st round bye both teams aren't going to do anything for the sole purpose of preventing him from getting the record, they're going to do what they feel is best to win the game. Certainly, those 2 things coincide to a degree. If he can get in the 120-130 range this week I think he'll get it. Probably a 50/50 proposition.

The Vikings could lose both games and AP could still get the record...The 84' Rams were 10-6....I also think with Percy being out this is what made this feat a possibility....more carries...with that said here are some real interesting statistics

Teams are starting to see that 9 in the box isn't the smartest thing to do either. If AD breaks through he is gone. So you pick your poison - fewer guys in the box and 3-7 yards a crack, or 9 in the box and carries of 0, -1, 1, 0, 2, -1, then 80 yards.

Someone is going to have to change what they are doing against the Vikes because like Hinsa said you either have negative rushing yards and then breaks a long one or you let him go 5 yards a carry. Either way it's bad news for the opposing team.
