Century beat Bottineau 6-2. Sounds like the game was much closer than the final score indicates.

you are right, it was a tight game until about 7- or 8 minutes left. bottineau could have actually been in the lead except for a couple of very weak goals let in by there goaltender. i think they ran out of gas running pretty much 2 lines and 3-4 defencemen. i was not impressed by the antics of #19 or the goaltender from bottineau towards the end of the game. both ejected. have a weak game and try to take it out on someone else. they made the team look like there was no class. if your gonna lose at least show some class and respect the team that just beat you.

on another note mandan beats j-town 4-3 in ot. powerplay goal. jamestown moves to the west and hasn't won a region tourney game in 2 years. i expected more out of them.

Skogen must have been impressive tonight to have faced that much rubber and keep it 3-0. Was he?

The score was close thanks to a hot GFC goalie. G-PR had 18 saves, and Lang from GFC had 43 saves(18 in the 2nd)
I listened to the Grand Forks broadcast. The announcers felt the 1st was close, but G-PR dominated the 2nd and 3rd. Towards the end, when GFC had pulled the goalie, they had trouble getting the puck out of the zone, and one announcer said "Central has had trouble getting the puck across the red line" and the other resonded "yeah, the red line next the the net!"
Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing!

My predicitons for today

GFC 2 South 1
DL 3 North 1
GFRR 6 GPR 5 Expecting a real shootout here. Could go either way but im to much of a grand forks homer haha

east sr of the year- Meland
Coach of the year- I dont really know but the rumor around the rink last nite was it was going to Bina from central. im sure a lot of the bina haters on this baord are gunna be mad.

btw. RR eric meland ecliipsed the 70 point mark. I doubt he is close but i wonder what the state record is for poitns in a season.

If my memory serves correctly, the record for points in a season is 98 or 99 points, set in 1992. I can't remember if it was Jeremy Asheim or Mike Peluso. I may be wrong.

Iam pretty sure Asheim put up 99 while Peluso put up either 96 or 92 but the record is held by Asheim

you are right Jeremy Aasheim had 99 points and Mike Peluso had 98 they also skated with a guy named Mike Schauer who had 76 points. Ther were 5 or 6 players over the 70 point mark that season. Tom Philion, Darin Erstad, not sure but maybe Mike Blessum from minot.

i have the 1993 west region preview, it lists the leading scorers from 92, i'll have to dig that out and see if there are any more names that i missed.
