Does Herbel from bottineau have any shot at all of being Mr. Hockey? I think he will be nominated, because right now no one in the west can shut him down for a night. Though i think it will be another charlie bair thing weak west no comparison to a east top 5

Thats what the east said about Tyler Jundt last year also. " He's from the west" Well now he is from the USHL. So yes Eric Herbel should have a shot. The West has a ton of talent. Just lacking depth.

You cant put him in there when he plays against Jv teams

i think herbel has a shot, he is probly one of the most talented but he has no team what so ever. I would consider him the best player in the west by far.

there are a lot of players that would put up numbers like that if they played against jv teams. i don't see any reason for him to be nominated for mr. hockey

If the Mr. Hockey came from the East 3 players that come to mind are Danny Wurden from Fargo South along with teammate Sean Deichert and Grafton's Zach Miller.
If the Mr. Hockey came from the west the 3 players that come to mind are Nathen Stremick from Minot Eric Herbal of Bottineau and Michael Hillman from Bismarck High.
I beleive that the system works with 4 players who are up for the award and then the coaches vote on which player they think deserves it. I think that at Each Region has to have a represenative for example> last year the nominees were Paul Campbell - Grafton Paul Weisgarber - Fargo South Erick Galt - Fargo South Tyler Jundt - Williston. I'm not sure how it exactly works but I would beleive that the East Region Senior Athlete of the year would be up no matter what and the West Region Senior Athlete of the year would be up with automatic bids. People may not like my opinions but those are the kids i think its going to come down to and i wouldnt be suprised to see 3 reps from the East and only 1 from the west.

Jamestown was in the West the year that Joey Vannet won Mr Hockey.
